In December 1962, Boston was engulfed by fear, with six women strangled since June. Despite a massive police mobilization, the “Boston Strangler” killed eight more victims and then vanished. Albert DeSalvo’s 1965 confession seemed to close the case, but he was never arrested, charged, tried, or convicted for any of the Strangler crimes. And the 14 victims did not fit a profile… young and old, white and black, city and suburban. So how many killers were there?
